Who gets elected to the State Senate (as well as to other local offices) affects our rent laws.

State Senator Adriano Espaillat (supported by Manhattan Borough President Stringer.  Sen. Espaillat gave up his Senate seat to run for Congress, unsuccessfully, against Charles Rangel), and

State Assembly Member Guillermo Linares (supported by Mayor Bloomberg. A.M. Linares gave up his Assembly seat to run for State Senate, and let his daughter run for the Assembly seat).
