On Wednesday, March 30th, hundreds of concerned New Yorkers will converge upon the state Capitol to protest a devastating state budget that puts millionaires before working class New Yorkers and misses the opportunity to renew and strengthen the rent laws before the midnight hour.
Organizations participating include Alliance for Quality Education, Citizen Action of New York, New York City Coalition for Educational Justice, Long Island Progressive Coalition, Make the Road New York, New York Communities for Change, VOCAL, Push-Buffalo, Right to the City New York, Real Rent Reform New York, Community Voices Heard and also New Deal for New York, The Save Our SUNY Coalition, Strong Economy for All and Growing Together NY.
The Real Rent Reform campaign is excited to be working with such a broad and powerful coalition of advocates. Albany must start serving the interests of the people of New York by repealing vacancy destabilization, extending the millionaire's tax, and putting a stop to cuts on education.
With the help of all the groups involved, we’ll be covering the event live, using the stream below. If you can’t make it to Albany, come back here on 3/30 between 2pm and midnight for full, live coverage of the events at the Capitol.
